Crewmembers' guide to pass riding
ARTICULATE STORYLINE
Scenario
One of the privileges of working for an airline is standby travel. Due to multiple violations of the standby travel rules, we were asked to create a training module that would clarify those rules and become part of the onboarding experience for new hires.
Product
The course was delivered online, on-demand, via the learning portal as a one-module eLearning that provides information on the Dos and Don'ts of standby travel, and Pass Riding etiquette, as well as guidance on how to add family members as dependents. After completing the module, new hires would have access to add dependents to their travel privileges.
Since this was a relatively small project, I was the sole designer and developer for this course. I conducted the needs analysis with the SMEs and developed the course module in Articulate Storyline. I created the graphics using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and the whiteboard videos were developed by a business partner following a script created in partnership with the Communications team.
The concept
The course was created as an analogy to a task list that should be completed before leaving home for travel. Each lesson corresponds to a task. Items were crossed over when completed, which creates a sense of accomplishment and tells the student where they are in the course.
One of my favorite parts of this course was the little blurbs placed in the quiz slides, another opportunity to transfer knowledge.
Immediate feedback
Throughout the course, there were opportunities for learners to receive individualized and content-specific feedback. I do believe that immediate feedback greatly enhances the learning experience.

ETOPS
ARTICULATE RISE
The ETOPS eLearning was designed and developed as required regulatory training for JetBlue pilots to perform the airline's first overwater flights to Europe.
The modules were developed in Articulate Rise.
